URGENT ALERT – FORGED BOARD NOTICE. Board staff received a copy of a forged notice on forged Board of Pharmacy letterhead sent to a pharmacy in Wilson, NC. The notice claimed that the pharmacy was the subject of a complaint and should “be prepared to spend 3 to 4 hours with the investigator.” The letter is unsigned, instead purporting to be from an unnamed “Administrative Assistant” at the Board of Pharmacy. A copy of the forged notice may be found here: http://www.ncbop.org/pdf/forgednotice.pdf. Board investigative staff is treating this as a priority matter and asks that anyone with any information about the possible source of this forgery to contact Karen Matthew, Director of Investigations. Any pharmacy or pharmacist receiving a similar suspicious notice is asked to do the same.
